Fresh air for the creative ideas of design school

In connection with the fact that Design School Kolding has undergone a major renovation of the school's buildings, one of the projects has been to optimise and replace large parts of the school's ventilation system. In this context, our customer Bravida in Kolding has been responsible for the ventilation centre award and, in close cooperation with KE Fibertec, installed textile-based solutions in the school's new, beautiful canteen and in most other teaching facilities. They range from premises where machines are used for creative tasks and therefore need high air exchange, to larger, open spaces where textiles and paper materials are used for creative tasks.
“Fabric ducts are an environmentally friendly alternative and a good way to supply and transport the air in buildings. At Bravida, we use fabric ducts in all kinds of buildings. At Design School Kolding we have installed them in the school canteen, workshops and assembly rooms. But a textile-based solution is also very suitable in other types of construction, such as offices, laboratories, sports halls and the like. Unlike steel ducts, fabric ducts are made of a light-weight material. This brings many advantages in the construction in question, not only in terms of assembly time, but also for the installers, where the lower weight of the solution provides better ergonomics. Textile ducts are also significantly less environmentally damaging to manufacture than steel ducts and luminaires, which is of great importance to Bravida”, says Dorthe Hougaard, Head of Department, Bravida Kolding.
For the new ventilation solution, KE Fibertec has supplied textile ducts in the two strong grades GreenWeave and MultiWeave in the color light grey, which fits well into the school's other furnishings and interiors. In the school canteen, an almost 65 feet long textile duct made of MultiWeave material and with several nozzles has been installed, which ensures that the air is advantageously shaped despite the height from ceiling to floor. When installing the textile ducts, both Safetrack and D-Lite Alu-rail systems were used for suspension, which resulted in a very good result.
