Design School Kolding

Fresh air for the creative ideas
In connection with the fact that Design School Kolding has undergone a major renovation of the school's buildings, one of the projects has been to optimize and replace large parts of the school's ventilation system. In this regard, our customer Bravida in Kolding has been responsible for the ventilation center award and, in close cooperation with KE Fibertec, has installed textile-based solutions in the school's new, beautiful canteen and in most other teaching facilities. This ranges from rooms where machines are used for creative tasks and therefore need high air exchange, to larger, open spaces where textiles and paper materials are used for creative tasks.
“Fabric ducts, also called air bags, are an environmentally friendly alternative and a good way to supply and transport the air in buildings. At Bravida, we use fabric ducts in all kinds of constructions. At Design School Kolding we have installed them in the school canteen, workshops and assembly rooms. But a textile-based solution is also particularly suitable for other types of construction, such as offices, laboratories, sports halls and the like. Unlike steel ducts, fabric ducts are made of a lighter material. This brings many advantages in the construction in question not only in terms of assembly time, but also for the installers, where the lower weight of the solution provides better ergonomics. Fabric ducts are also significantly less environmentally damaging to manufacture than steel ducts and fittings, which is of great importance to Bravida”, says Head of Department Dorthe Hougaard, Bravida Kolding.
For the new ventilation solution, KE Fibertec has supplied fabric ducts in the two strong materials GreenWeave and MultiWeave in the color light grey, which fits well into the school's other furnishings and interiors. In the school canteen, an almost 65 feet long fabric duct made of MultiWeave material and with several nozzles have been installed to ensure that the air is distributed evenly despite the height from ceiling to floor. When installing the fabric ducts, both Safetrack and D-Lite Alu-rail systems have been used for suspension, which has resulted in a desired engineered design.
