Center Parcs Woburn Forest

Corrosion-proof ventilation with consistent air distribution

KE Fibertec has provided a textile-based ventilation solution for Center Parc's Woburn Forest — the UK's largest subtropical water park. In this type of construction, ventilation is a crucial factor for both comfort, building protection and energy-efficient operation.

Large rooms and high humidity levels place special demands

In subtropical water parks, high humidity, warm pool environment and large building volumes are combined. Without proper air distribution, it can occur:

  • Condensation on walls and roof structures
  • Corrosion on steel and engineering installations
  • Uneven temperature zones
  • Unpleasant move for guests

Therefore, KE-Direjet fabric ducts were installed in both the water park and the sports hall of the center.

Long throw distance and precise air control

The solution is equipped with 2" vario nozzles, which provide throw lengths more than 65 feet. It makes it possible to:

  • Effectively transport the air into the residence zone
  • Counteract stratification in rooms with a large ceiling height
  • Ensuring uniform temperature throughout the hall
  • Accurately control airflow towards exposed areas

The active and directional blowing in ensures that moist air does not accumulate in stagnant zones.

Prevention of “dead zones” and rust

In swimming pools, it is especially important to avoid areas with insufficient air circulation. If moist and chlorine-containing air is allowed to stand still, it can lead to rust formation on load-bearing structures and engineering installations.

Fabric ducts evenly distribute the air along the entire length of the duct. This continuous air distribution reduces the risk of “dead zones” and helps protect the building from moisture-related damage.

Comfort for guests and employees

In addition to the building advantages, the solution ensures:

  • Stable temperature in the residence zone
  • Comfortable air movement without drafts
  • Efficient dehumidification
  • A healthy working environment for staff

The result is an indoor climate that matches the high expectations of a modern water park — where comfort, safety and long-term durability are the focus.
