In light industry — such as assembly halls, packing houses, electronics manufacturing and storage facilities - ventilation requirements are significantly different than in traditional office environments. Here, the ventilation solution must be able to handle large room volumes, varying heat loads from machinery and changing production zones. At the same time, the system must be robust, energy efficient and flexible. Such a solution has been installed as a ventilation solution at Lohmann Tapes in the company's English domicile.

Active supply with KE-DireJet®

The solution consists of five round KE-Direjet® fabric ducts, equipped with 3/4" nozzles. The system is designed to deliver an active and targeted supply air jet that ensures that the air reaches all the way into the working zone — even in halls with high ceilings.

The size and location of the nozzles are carefully sized to create:

• High throwing length
• Controlled air direction
• Effective mixing with room air
• Fast temperature equalization

This makes the solution particularly suitable in production environments where traditional low-pulse systems cannot ensure sufficient air distribution.

1. Uniform temperature in large rooms

In production halls, the temperature difference between ceiling and floor can be significant. With directional blowing, stratification is reduced so that heat does not accumulate under the ceiling, but is evenly distributed throughout the residence zone.

2. Efficient cooling of workspaces

During summer periods or in areas with heat-emitting machines, the active air supply can be targeted to specific zones where employees are staying.

3. Flexibility in modified production

Light industry is often characterized by continuous changes in production layout. Fabric ducts are easy to adapt, move or replace if needs change.

By supplying the air exactly where it is needed, unnecessary ventilation of unused zones is avoided. This makes better use of the ventilation air and reduces energy consumption.

Technical function

The five round fabric ducts are strategically placed to ensure optimal coverage of the entire production area. The combination of the properties of the textile material and the integrated 3/4" nozzles provides a balanced solution in which:

• The volume of air is evenly distributed between the ducts
• The air flow can be controlled in the desired direction
• Blowing adapts to ceiling height and room geometry

The system can also be sized for both heating and cooling, making it usable all year round.
