KE Fibertec highlights documented sustainability at Building Green

When Building Green brings the construction industry together this year to discuss the solutions of the future, KE Fibertec will be there to highlight how sustainability can become more tangible and verifiable. At the same time, the focus is on the documentation needed to make it easier for those in the construction sector to make informed choices when assessing materials and solutions based on their environmental impact. At the trade fair, KE Fibertec will be presenting textile based ventilation – a ventilation solution in which the material itself is a key element in air distribution. Here, the air is distributed throughout the specially designed textile duct, which is tailored to the individual room and its requirements. The solution ensures even and comfortable air distribution without draughts and combines a good indoor climate with low weight and simple installation.
From greenambitions to documentation
For KE Fibertec, sustainability is not just about developing solutions focused on a lower environmental footprint. It is also about being able to document how the products impact the environment. That is why Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) play an important role. KE Fibertec’s EPDs provide transparent and standardised insight into the environmental impact of its products throughout their entire life cycle. This provides a documented basis for LCA calculationsand makes it easier to make well-informed material choices in the sustainable construction of the future. For textile based ventilation, this means that thefocus is not only on the ventilation solution itself, but also on establishing a documented basis for assessing the environmental impact of the materials.
Lower footprint. Documented.
KE Fibertec’s textile based ventilation solutions can achieve a CO₂ footprint 4–5 times lower than that of a traditional steel duct. With third-party verified EPDs and project-specific CO₂ data, you receive transparent documentation of the solution’s climate footprint for use in, for example, LCA calculations. For KE Fibertec, it is not just about being able to document the carbon footprint, but also about making the documentation process as straightforward as possible for customers. KE Fibertec can provide a comprehensive documentation package for DGNB and BREEAM, making it easier to document the solution’s contribution to the project’s certification.
“If weare to make better and more sustainable choices in the construction sector, it is crucial that we have access to documentation. Sustainability must not merelybe a matter of intentions – it must also be measurable and documentable,” says Anders Olsen, Head of Development at KE Fibertec. At Building Green, KE Fibertec is therefore inviting architects, consultants, developers and other stakeholders in the construction industry to a discussion on how textile based ventilation and documented product data can be aligned with theambitions for more sustainable construction.
