ESCAPE Museum

Integral part of the design
The framework of the new museum is based on the former hospital building. Where there used to be medical and operating rooms, nine large exhibition rooms have now been established, spread over two separate buildings. The new extension, which is closely adapted to the former hospital and the associated refugee camp, today, together with the existing building stock, amounts to a total area of 1,600 m².
In order to create an architectural and historical context, the architect has chosen to add a slightly curved extension, which both brings together the existing buildings and adds an additional 500 m² to the museum. The extension also serves as a welcoming main entrance for museum guests. A large glass partition from floor to ceiling gives a beautiful look out against a green farm environment with the forest as a backdrop.
KE Fibertec, in close cooperation with Airteam, has delivered a textile-based ventilation solution for the museum. In total, 170 meters Ø100 mm textile ducts ensure a good and comfortable indoor climate for both visitors and employees — including the staff in the museum's kitchen.
In the extension, the ventilation solution is integrated directly into the design of the ceiling, where the textile ducts are located discreetly behind the wooden structure. In this way, aesthetics and function are united without compromising ventilation performance. Although the ventilation solution is not visible, it continues to contribute to high comfort and optimal air exchange in the rooms.
For the installation at FLØT Museet, the material GreenWeave has been chosen because it is particularly suitable for comfort environments — used in a light grey shade in the kitchen and in black in the extension.
