Denmark's Best Textile Ventilation

Vertical Farming

When air, temperature and moisture are evenly distributed between the cultivation layers, uniform growing conditions are created for all plants.

Uniform air distribution is essential for optimal yield of crops in vertical farming

KE Fibertec has developed the KE Greenduct concept specifically for growth facilities. The solution consists of a uniquely designed textile duct in either permeable or non-permeable polyester material, which ensures precise and efficient air distribution.

The air is distributed primarily through laser-cut holes, and the system can be suspended directly on racks with hooks, on cable or in specially designed aluminum rails that take up minimal space. It provides a flexible, space-saving and energy-efficient ventilation solution adapted to modern growing environments. We offer the solution in Cradle to Cradle approved materials.

Efficient air control in growing facilities with room-controlled system

The air is distributed evenly across hallways and in the room to ensure a uniform temperature and distribution.

More flexible cultivation. Can be used with a mobile shelving system.

Fewer fans to circulate the air, easier to control air flow and easier installation.

Hygiene solution. KE GreenDuct can be washed.

KE GreenDuct can be treated with our environmentally friendly AntiBAC treatment (approved according to EN/ISO 20645 and EN/ISO 20743), which eliminates mold and fungus growth.

Precise microclimate control with KE GreenDuct

Uniform air supply over the crop. Both in width and length of the shelves. This is important in order to achieve optimal growing conditions for the crops.

KE GreenDuct can operate with variable air volume from 100% down to 25%.

Continuous air movement around the roots prevents stagnant air and possible growth of mold and mildew. It also helps the plant grow stronger.

All KE GreenDucts are custom-made to order and can be designed for installation inside racks, outside racks and for closed environmental containers.

KE GreenDuct can be treated with our environmentally friendly AntiBAC treatment (approved according to EN/ISO 20645 and EN/ISO 20743), which eliminates mold and fungus growth.

We adapt the solution to your project

With KE GreenDuct Breeze, we offer flexible textile ducts for all indoor growing environments. Whether shelving systems, containers or special compartments, KE GreenDuct Breeze ensures uniform air distribution, and the range is available in various shapes and sizes adapted to your application.

Our KE GreenDuct Eco series is designed for sustainable indoor growing. As the world's only Cradle to Cradle-certified textile-based air distribution system and part of LEED V4, it combines flexibility, customized design and uniform air distribution.

KE Fibertec offers three special materials for textile ventilation to meet different needs. MultiWeave is a multifunctional material, suitable for many different applications. GreenWeave is ideal for comfort installations where high demands are placed on air quality, while ZeroWeave is an airtight material that requires minimal maintenance and can be used in a wide range of situations.

FAQs

How does the system save energy and reduce operating costs?

By adding the air directly in the sub-temperature living zone, efficient heating and cooling is achieved without oversized ventilation volumes. It can reduce the energy consumption of the cooling and heating system by up to 30% and at the same time minimize the need for expensive steel equipment.

How will the solution be cheaper compared to steel ducts?

A textile-based ventilation system is lighter both in the weight of the material and when assembled. This means significantly shorter assembly time — up to 9 times faster in fact. It simultaneously jaws less energy to achieve the same throwing length. Including the assembly time, it provides significantly lower operating and construction costs than traditional steel solutions.

How do tapered nozzles provide longer throwing length and better thermal penetration?

The nozzles limit the induction of room air, so the air loses speed slower. The result is longer throwing length and deeper thermal penetration, ensuring that both hot and cold air are accurately distributed throughout the room.

What makes the hybrid solution ideal for both heating and cooling?

The hybrid solution combines dense but air-permeable fabrics with KE-Direjet nozzles. It prevents condensation and dust on the ducts and ensures that both hot and cold air can be distributed efficiently and comfortably in the room.

What is industrial refrigeration?

Industrial refrigeration is a general term for refrigeration in industrial enterprises where maximum air speeds in the room are needed.
