Good indoor climate on the school schedule in Vejen

At Østerbyskolen, drafts and poor air distribution were experienced with the school's existing ventilation system in several of the school's study rooms and common rooms. In connection with a renovation at the school, it was decided, in close cooperation with Airteam, to replace the old system with a solution with textile-based ventilation. Here, KE Fibertec has supplied textile ducts for the school canteen, staff rooms, several study rooms and for the large library/learning room. A textile duct from KE Fibertec can provide a uniform and homogeneous air distribution to the room, allowing the entire textile surface to be used. This ensures that no drag disturbances occur in the room. A textile duct is extremely suitable for a VAV or DCV plant with varying air volumes, usually controlled on CO2 value, so that the indoor climate requirements are met with a maximum of 1,000 ppm.

“We are very satisfied with the total ventilation solution that we have been provided, and we see a clear improvement in the indoor climate in the rooms where textile ducts are installed. We have received very good advice, and our decision was made in consultation with our advisor, Airteam,” says Mette Kragh, Deputy Head of School at Østerbyskolen.

Sustainable solution with reduced carbon footprint A Cradle to Cradle certified solution has been chosen by the developer. With GreenWeave, KE Fibertec can provide a sustainable ventilation solution, as the material is made on the basis of Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certified yarns (18.0.36542) and with environmentally certified production in accordance with it. BIG 14001. GreenWeave is manufactured at KE Fibertec's own special weaving plant in Vejen and, in addition to being sustainable, is also extremely energy-friendly, making it suitable for comfort installations with high demands on the indoor climate, such as at Østerbysko. The material has a high dust carrying capacity of 25 g/m² textile surface according to. EN 779:2012 and is a 100% degradable material.

Compared to other conventional ventilation solutions such as steel, textile ducts weigh up to nine times less and are therefore a much less CO2-intensive alternative in terms of transport and disposal. The solution is always tailored to the target, which also reduces waste. In the large learning room - the school library - a barely 12 meter round textile duct, the KE-Inject system, has been installed, where in the other rooms half-round KE interior low-impulse channels are provided and all in the material GreenWeave.

“We chose textile ducts from KE Fibertec because we wanted a sustainable solution with high quality materials and with a one-start air distribution. We have a very good cooperation with KE Fibertec, where we always get a competent and good guide for our projects,” says Klaus Mortensen, Airteam.
