Integrated into the design

The framework for the new museum is based on the former hospital building and where there used to be wards and operating rooms, there are now nine large exhibition rooms in two separate buildings. The beautiful new extension, designed for the former hospital and the associated relocation camp, now covers a total area of 1,600 m2. To unify the entire building architecturally and historically, the architect has chosen to design an extension with a slightly curved shape that brings together and adds an additional 500 m2 to the museum.

In addition to connecting the two buildings, the extension is designed to create a welcoming entrance for museum visitors with a large floor-to-ceiling glass section that provides a beautiful view of a green courtyard and the forest in the background. In close collaboration with Airteam, KE Fibertec has delivered a textile-based ventilation solution for the new museum, where a total of 170 meters of Ø100 mm textile ducts ensure a good indoor climate for visitors and staff in the museum kitchen. In the extension, the ventilation solution is integrated into the design of the ceiling, where the textile ducts are placed behind the wooden structure to combine form and function without reducing the effect of the ventilation.

Even though you can't see the ventilation solution, the effect is still higher comfort and optimal air exchange in the room. For the installation at the FLUGT museum, the material GreenWeave was chosen, which is an ideal quality for comfort environments - in the kitchen in a beautiful light grey color and in the extension in black.
