Why Fabric Ducting?

In principle a fabric duct is a round, semi-round, or quarter round duct made of a light-weight fabric material instead of e.g galvanized steel, stainless steel or aluminium, and designed for delivery and distribution of cooled or heated air.

Why choose a Fabric Ducting system?

  1. Flexibility and tailored fabric ducting solutions

Flexibility and tailored designs characterize KE Fibertec's fabric ducting solutions. Here, you may freely choose the size that fits the architecture of the building the best. Also you may choose from an almost unlimited range of system layouts, colors, materials, and whether the fabric ducting system must be passive, hybrid, or active.

  2. Unique fabric ducting materials and colors

We are the only manufacturer in the world to offer customized woven textiles from our own weaving mill. Our fabric ducting materials are designed for air distribution - not for tents or patio blinds - shrinkage after washing, color-fastness, and not least, the best possible Dust Holding Capacity. We offer a wide range of standard colors, and our textiles may be dyed in any desired color according to a standard color system (request a custom color quote today!).

  3. Efficient air distribution and perfect indoor climate

Fabric ducting is very well-suited for efficient, uniform, and draft-free distribution of fresh air without "dead zones." Stale and stagnant air may cause fatigue and headaches. KE Fibertec's fabric air ducts create an effective air change and a healthier indoor climate in schools, offices, shops, showrooms, and other types of rooms where many people are assembled.

  4. Fire approved fabric ducting materials

Naturally, all KE Fibertec fabric ducting materials have been fire-tested and approved according to international fire standards and UL listed according to NFPA 90A. Furthermore, the products are classified as air distribution devices in accordance with ICC Evaluation Service AC167 and UL 2518.

  5. Excellent acoustic properties in fabric ducting

Our low impulse systems possess unique properties as to noise generation and if correctly dimensioned they can be used for sound studios without additional costs. At the same time the fabrics act as sound baffles below the ceiling where they absorb and break down a part of the noise reflected.

  6. No condensation problems with fabric ducting

All our low impulse and hybrid ducts are made of permeable textiles where a little air will always diffuse through the surface. This prevents condensation problems on the surface, even in very humid rooms (>90% RH) thus rendering insulation unneccessary.

  7. Easy to transport and install

Our fabric ducting materials weigh 6.9 to 11.8oz per square yard which is much lighter than spiral ducts. At the same time fabric ducts are much easier to handle and to transport as they are folded and packed in cartons with a maximum weight of 55lbs. KE Fibertec's suspension rails are delivered in exact lengths rendering installation easier and quicker than similar systems.

  8. Hygienic and easy to maintain

All fabric ducting systems are easily removed and washed in a washing machine. Our processed Trevira CS materials absorb max. 1% water even at a relative humidity of more than 90% and the fabric ducting materials are approved for the food industry. In extremely humid environments we recommend an additional Antibac treatment of the materials that renders them resistant towards fungi and micro-organisms. Please note that the antimicrobial effect is non-existing at rates below 85% RF.

  9. Sustainable ventilation

All KE Fibertec fabric ducting textiles are tested and approved according to the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100. Our production is certified according to the ISO 14001 standard (Environmental Management System). Transportation and disposal of fabric ducting systems produce less CO2 pollutants than conventional steel ducts.

CradleVent® is the world's first Cradle to Cradle ventilation duct for sustainable building.

With fabric ducting you can create a more efficient air distribution compared to steel ducts which opens up for energy savings.

National Sales Manager Ken Rummage talks about indoor air quality and the advantages of fabric ducting at 2016 AHR EXPO.

Why choose KE Fibertec as your ventilation partner?

Creating a perfect indoor climate involves more than just selling fabric ducting products. For KE Fibertec it's all about dialogue, expertise, reliability and logistics. We don't stock finished products or have standard components. All our fabric ducting solutions are tailored to the task at hand.

No matter how much effort we put in, a good solution requires dialogue about the expectations of the end result. We offer our advice free of charge, so the sooner we are involved in the project, the better the chance we have of achieving the desired results. Fabric Ducting can replace more conventional air distribution fittings in almost every situation, but only if the design is tailored to the particular task.

KE Fibertec has gone against the tide by raising the technology level of the entire production process by introducing new standards for the use of laser technology. All laser parameters are generated in our dimensioning programme WinVent 3D and are electronically submitted to our laser cutters.

A good working relationship is based on trust and for your next ventilation job we hope to get the opportunity to prove that this is not just empty words.
