Fabric duct ventilation with KE DireJet System


The 
KE DireJet System combines the best of displacement ventilation with more traditional mixing type ventilation.

The KE DireJet system is a polyester fabric duct system, engineered to introduce a majority of conditioned air into buildings at low air velocities, with a portion of the air directed through nozzles into the space where it is needed.

Displacement ventilation introduces air into a room at very low velocities. Laboratory tests and real world experience have shown that heat sources in a room (humans, machines, etc.) generate sufficient rising heat to pull the warm air up and out of the room.

Cold air from the fabric duct replaces (or displaces) the hot air as it leaves the room. In the occupied zone, displacement systems create as little as 30 FPM velocities, resulting in a very comfortable working environment.

Years of practical experience and research have shown that a fabric duct with nozzles are superior to ducts with slots, or simple holes cut into the side. The reason is simple: control. Air enters the fabric duct at velocities of up to 1500 FPM. Simple slots or holes cannot control the direction of this high velocity air.

The KE DireJet System uses nozzles which force the air to turn the corner, and blow from the fabric duct perpendicularly.

Nozzles have long been used in the HVAC industry to increase the velocity of air and direct it where it is needed. The KE DireJet nozzles increase the velocity of the air as it is discharged from the fabric duct. The result is an increase in throw of up to 30% compared to a fabric duct with simple slots or holes.

A complement to the superior function of KE DireJet systems is the washability of a fabric duct. Airborne particles trapped by the fabric duct can be easily washed out. Each fabric duct is comprised of smaller sections, each zippered together. The smaller sections are designed to fit into any commercial washing machine.

Each fabric duct is suspended  from an aluminum track system - a bead along the top of the duct allows maintenance personnel to slide the fabric duct off its track from a single location.
