Transparency is important in the reporting of CO2 emissions
27-01-2025In recent years, there has been an increasing focus on the climate and the green transition. Many companies are working every day to optimise and develop solutions that benefit the environment. But today, it's not just about having good intentions with a lot of initiatives and fancy words about what you plan to realise. For businesses, it's much more about turning those ‘green’ intentions into a sustainable bottom line, creating tangible, sustainable results and growth for the individual company while doing something good for the climate.
Sustainability can be a difficult concept. Not only in terms of meaning, but also when it comes to precision and transparency. It's a concept that companies and organisations are forced to deal with. With more and more laws, regulations and attention from society, it is no longer optional to focus on climate, social responsibility and biodiversity, for example.
The increasing focus in this area means that more sustainability buzzwords such as SDG, ESG and Scope 1-3 reporting are emerging. Never before has it been more important to think in a focused way and keep track of green initiatives while being able to document with data how you are actually making a difference.
KE Fibertec has been working with sustainability for several years. A targeted focus and full transparency in the way we work with the area means that we can now document on several fronts how our textile-based ventilation solution can contribute to more points according to sustainability standards, that our textile material can be recycled for new solutions, optimisation of our supply chain, and how production in Denmark has significantly reduced consumption and waste in recent years.
Transparency and documentation will be important concepts when it comes to sustainable construction in the future. CO2 documentation is a good example of this. It provides a complete overview of each component's impact on the carbon footprint, while also facilitating the overall construction process and its certification. Here, an EPD is an extremely valuable tool for those who work with building certifications and want to know the exact figures for the carbon footprint of a given solution, including a ventilation system.
With the introduction of our new EPDs, it has become easier to document the environmental impact of our ventilation solutions. Because they operate according to objective, third-party verified standards, it is even easier to communicate the message. At KE Fibertec, we have also chosen to develop dynamic CO2 documentation, where we use our unique calculation software to offer our customers a complete insight into all CO2 emissions on everything from textiles, assembly parts and accessories to packaging.
